Boreal Electroacoustic Music Society


The Boreal Electroacoustic Music Society is an organization that promotes and nurtures sound oriented artworks, creators and performers. Created in 1989 to promote experimental music of all kinds, BEAMS went on to produce concerts and festivals in Edmonton of many well known local, Canadian and International Artists. Radio Unbound (1995), the Edmonton Intermedia Arts Festival – The Body (1996), Edmonton Intermedia Arts Festival – The Interface (1998), Action/Reaction (1999), and The Sea of Sound Festival (2005) are a few of the many events we have produced over the years. BEAMS also produces CD's releasing A BEAMS Compilation (1991), Unsound (2001), and Unsound 2 (2008). BEAMS' has built a solid reputation locally and internationally for its steady dedication to promoting electroacoustic music in Alberta
